U3A in Brent

What is U3A?

The University of the Third Age is made up of  retired people who study together for the pleasure of learning.

We share our knowledge and skills with each other in a disciplined but informal way.

No qualification, apart from being retired, is required.

U3A is not an academic institution which awards degrees.

The U3A is a national charity
composed of over 700 branches

with a total membership of 230,000.

Around the country, local senior people
organise themselves for the purpose of learning.

We receive no grants and are entirely self-financing.

Once you have paid your annual fee you may attend as many of our groups as you wish provided there is room.

To quote one of the founders of the movement PETER LASLETT:

“Those who teach shall also learn and those who learn shall also teach”.
